Gloria J. Hill,

Enrolled Agent, Tax Accountant


Gloria Hill has been a resident of the Coachella Valley since 1986.  She started Hill & Associates in 1996 following nearly ten years as the branch manager of a large Palm Desert accounting firm.

Gloria successfully passed the Treasury Department's Enrollment exam in 1997 and became enrolled to practice before the Internal Revenue Service.  Enrollment is only available to individuals that have proven their expertise in taxation by studying and passing this two day examination.  Enrolled Agent status requires significant continuing education and adherance to a strict professional code of conduct.  In addition, Gloria is a member of the National Society of Accountants, the National Association of Enrolled Agents, and the Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce.

Hill & Associates specializes in the accounting and tax needs of individuals, partnerships, LLCs, corporations, trusts, estates and non-profits. Gloria has experience in all phases of accounting and taxation.  Whether your tax needs are large or small, Gloria and her staff are pleased to serve you.

The firm is small and seeks to provide personalized service to all clients.  Currently Hill & Associates has a staff of four, all of whom have strong backgrounds in accounting, taxation or both.  In addition to providing bookkeeping and tax services to a full range of  clients, Gloria's firm offers business consulting, business analysis and business valuation services.  Recently mortgage loan application services have been added to the firm's services.

Gloria has always been active in the community.  She is currently serving a two-year term as Treasurer of the 1800 + member Soroptimist International (Golden West Region), where she has been a Board member for five years.  This worldwide non-profit organization strives, through service projects, to advance human rights and the status of women.  Gloria also served three years on the Palm Springs Human Rights Commission. 

Gloria and her husband Dixon reside in Palm Springs.  They have four adult children and four grandchildren.  When time permits, she enjoys traveling and pursuing her interest in poetry.  She is a published poet.

Mike LehmanMichael Lehman,

Enrolled Agent, Tax Accountant, Quickbooks Pro Advisor


 

Michael has worked in the accounting and tax field since 1975.  In that year, while still in college, he began working for a public accounting firm in Fairbanks, Alaska.  The firm provided tax and accounting services throughout Alaska.  This often involved traveling to remote clients in a Cessna flown by the firm's owner, a former bush pilot.  During construction of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline, Mike's firm provided accounting and payroll services to pipeline contractors, as well as municipalities and private utilities in Alaska's isolated bush areas. 

Mike completed his Bachelor's degree in 1976 and graduated from the University of Alaska. In 1977 he passed the Treasury Department's enrollment examination.  In addition to being an Enrolled Agent ("E.A."), he is member of the National Society of Accountants, is accredited in taxation and accountancy, and is a QuickBook's Professional Advisor.

Mike has been a Coachella Valley resident full time since 1997 after he sold his private practice in Seattle.  He began visiting the desert in 1983, purchased his first Palm Springs vacation home in 1993, and finally moved to the area in 1997.  He loves the desert and does not want to live anyplace else.

Kay F. Creed

Accounting Manager


Kay Creed has been working in the accounting field since 1984.  In college she completed numerous accounting courses, but feels she has gained most of her practical knowledge on the job. She likes to research issues as they arise and is our office specialist in payroll regulations.  Everyone in the office is thankful she possesses a high degree of proficiency in computer hardware and software applications.  And Kay offers notary services to all our clients.

A Southern California native, Kay spent her early career working in accounting departments of various private companies.  She has been in public accounting since 1998 when she began working for a CPA firm in San Bernardino County.  She remained in that position until moving to Palm Springs three years later.  She has been with Hill and Associates since 2001.

Kay is keenly aware of detail and considers customer satisfaction her number one priority.  Like everyone in the firm, she provides both a personal and customized service to clients.

Kay has an impressive knowledge of software applications,  including QuickBooks, Word, Excel and CFS,  among others.  Although she knows accounting knowledge is mandatory for all accountants, she feels automation is the key to providing accurate and detailed information to clients. 

Kay is active in Soroptimist, a world wide non-profit organization dedicated, through service, to advance human rights and the status of women.  She is President of Soroptimist International of Palm Springs.

Kay has one adult son living in Big Bear where he works in construction.  She enjoys spending time with her family and taking care of her pets.  She loves animals and is always caring for lost animals in need of a home.

                              John Mayer

                          

 

John Mayer is the youngest member of our staff and has been a local resident since 1994.  In 1996 he graduated from the Institute of Business and Medical Technology with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.  Since that time, John has been taking additional professional courses in both accounting and taxation.

John has worked in various accounting positions since completing his degree.  He was a contract accountant for a local temp service, which exposed him to a variety of different industries over a span of nine years.  Included were controller, auditor and financial analysis positions. 

John has worked with QuickBooks over five years and has a strong knowledge of this complex program.  Currently he works in our bookkeeping department and will gradually be exposed to additional responsibilities.  One of his goals is to expand his accounting knowledge and become fully versed in tax accounting and tax preparation.
